The challenge

We interviewed Dan Richards, Lead SDR at Hire Genius.

How did Hire Genius discover Cognism?

“I used Cognism in my previous role and it revolutionised the way I worked. So when I joined Hire Genius, I made sure we implemented it here.”

What problems were they trying to solve?

“It’s not just about getting contact numbers. I’ve used some of your competitors, like Apollo and Lusha, and the numbers are ok, but Cognism beats them every time.”

“But the deciding factor for me is the data entry abilities of Cognism. I can export contacts from LinkedIn to our CRM in just a few clicks, eliminating a huge amount of data entry for me.”

What is Hire Genius’ target market?

“We want to speak to anyone who is a Recruitment Director, upwards. Recruitment business founders, leaders and C-suite level because they’re the decision-makers regarding new technology.”

“We mainly focus on the UK, and specifically, we’ve got a big focus on London at the moment.”

Dan added:

“We’ve found that the UK data from Cognism is particularly strong, so it’s working well for our targeting.”

How does Hire Genius use Cognism?

“We use Prospector and the Chrome Extension.

Dan told us about a typical workflow using the Chrome Extension:

“I’m using Cognism every 10 minutes! I’ll do some research on a prospect’s LinkedIn and use the Chrome Extension to get their contact details. I’ll then move them onto our CRM, Salesloft, using the Cognism integration which is so quick and easy.” 

“Then it’s time to start prospecting them, whether that’s using the direct dial or email we’ve got from Cognism.”

How does Hire Genius use Prospector?

“This would come into play when I want to build a new ICP targeted list. It takes me around 20 minutes to refine a list of potential prospects and then move their contact details into Salesloft to target them.”

What happens once a lead is qualified?

“We move qualified leads into Salesforce using the Cognism integration, but only at this point. Otherwise, they stay in Salesloft.”

What was the onboarding experience like?

“It was super easy to pick up in terms of the user interface and we were provided with training.” 

“As I’d used Cognism previously, I didn’t need much training, but the onboarding managers were there to help when we needed it.”

The results

We asked Dan what quantifiable results he’s seen since using Cognism.

“I’ve generated in excess of £2M in pipeline over the past year, which I can directly attribute to Cognism data.”

“That’s come from over 100 opportunities that Cognism’s B2B data has brought in. We may have got them without the data, but it would have taken us much longer to get there.”
