Docfield is a contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform. It helps organisations streamline their contract processes, from creation and collaboration to approval and compliance. Its goal is to make contracting faster, more efficient and smarter.

Founded in 2019 in Amsterdam, Docfield initially grew organically within the education sector, primarily through founder-led sales. It expanded into real estate, healthcare, and enterprise software industries, evolving its go-to-market strategy with scalable outbound, SEO and data-driven marketing, with Cognism at its core.

The challenge

We interviewed Victor Van Overbeek, Founder Associate at Docfield, to learn how Cognism’s high-quality European data and value won them over. 

How did you first find out about Cognism? 

“We previously used Apollo but struggled with inconsistent data quality and insufficient enrichment, especially for European prospects. While looking for a new data provider, we quickly learnt Cognism was a strong alternative.”

“Through a stratified sampling test, comparing known C-level contacts from our CRM, Cognism outperformed on coverage, depth, and accuracy, even surfacing relevant contacts we didn’t have ourselves. Apollo and Lusha simply couldn’t match this.”

How does Docfield use Cognism?

“We use Cognism’s WebApp for structured ICP filtering and bulk list creation. We then export this to our CRM or LinkedIn for matched audiences. We also use the Browser Extension for one-click enrichment directly from LinkedIn and instantly push this to HubSpot.” 

Victor added:  

“By building and syncing custom audiences for retargeting and new segment testing, we use Cognism for LinkedIn ad targeting. It allows us to only focus on ICP-matching accounts, which is crucial for campaign ROI.” 

“After we hosted our last webinar, Cognism helped us to land more demos and increase attendance rates. With our advanced signing solution partner, PKI Signing, we enriched our attendee list with relevant prospects, all thanks to Cognism.” 

Who is Docfield’s ICP/target audience?

“We mainly target legal, sales and procurement companies.”

“In terms of our ICP, this covers legal, operational and financial decision-makers at mid-market and enterprise-level companies. Our customers are active in real estate, healthcare, and software & technology.” 

Victor added: 

“We target the Netherlands, Germany, Nordics, UK and France using Cognism’s data. Our focus is outside of the US market, where data quality is critical and often underrepresented by competitors.” 

How does Cognism perform against its competitors?

Victor explained: 

“We’re really happy with Cognism’s data quality, which was 80% accurate after evaluation. Apollo and Lusha had inconsistent data, especially for European prospects.”

“Cognism’s data was far superior compared to Apollo’s. It was a real eye-opener for us!”
