Overview of Clearbit pricing

Clearbit, recently acquired by HubSpot, has shifted its focus from providing email addresses and company phone numbers to offering data enrichment and website visitor tracking.

What does it mean for pricing?

The tool remains tight-lipped. Its website encourages users to fill out a form to request pricing based on the size of your database.

This makes it tricky to find up-to-date pricing for Clearbit. Current users mention it’s expensive for what you get, while others dislike the database size pricing model

We’ve done some investigating to find out how much Clearbit costs. Read on for a detailed breakdown 👇

How much does Clearbit cost?

Clearbit has five product offerings:

  1. Advertising.
  2. Reveal.
  3. Enrichment.
  4. Prospector.
  5. Alerts.

Pricing and plans are based on the size of your database, monthly web traffic, and contact creation. As these factors increase, the cost also goes up.

Sources across the web mention archived Clearbit pricing (pre-acquisition) as follows:

  • Clearbit Enrichment costs $99 monthly and $199 annually.
  • Clearbit Prospector starts at $999 monthly and $12,000 annually.

Based on this, one can assume each Clearbit product costs around $99 and $999 per month.

Clearbit pricing is influenced by different factors than other B2B data vendors. Normally, pricing is based on the credits you need, the features and capabilities you require and the number of users/licenses needed.

With Clearbit, pricing is influenced by the above factors, the size of your company and database, monthly web traffic and contact creation.

Company headcount prices start at $17,100 for companies with 200 employees and increase to $80,700 for those with over 1,000 employees.

What is Clearbit pricing based on?

According to the Clearbit website, plans are based on a credit system and are volume-based. They can be tailored to include additional features like Forms, Advertising, and Capture.

Despite the vagueness surrounding Clearbit’s pricing, we do know that the tool offers the following features:

  • Packages to suit business size.
  • Web app.
  • Intent data.
  • Email extension.
  • Enrichment.
  • CCPA compliant & GDPR alignment.

What are the disadvantages of Apollo pricing?

Clearbit’s credit-based pricing system inhibits viewing and exporting data, monthly caps, and data resets. This may cause frustration for some users. Many reviewers on G2 mention the low credits provided, while others find the credit-based pricing model unintuitive.

This pricing system promotes scarcity thinking. Alternatives like Cognism offer an unrestricted credit model that enables users to gather contacts or companies without worrying about extra costs.

What’s more, Cognism offers several features Clearbit doesn’t, including:

  • A phone verification/ research on-demand service.
  • GDPR & CCPA compliance.
  • Do-not-call list checking in the US and Europe for extra compliance.
  • Phone-verified mobile numbers.
  • A browser extension that works with all corporate websites, including LinkedIn.

Cognism removes pain points with Clearbit pricing

We offer licences priced per user for more efficient prospecting:

  • No unexpected costs.
  • No scarcity mindset.
  • Access to global data at no extra cost.

Costs differ depending on the license type and the needs of your sales team. All license types include unrestricted access to data and individual & page-level exports (up to 25 profiles at a time). It’s subject to a generous fair usage policy

Unlike other vendors, integrations are included in every package. Cognism integrates with popular CRMs and Sales Engagement tools such as Salesforce, Hubspot, Outreach, and SalesLoft.

How do Clearbit credits work?

Even though Clearbit’s pricing is not available to the public, one can expect its credit model to follow the same process as other vendors with similar pricing, which is one credit charged per contact reveal or export.

What we do know is that Clearbit charges the following:

  • Form Shortening: 1 credit per unique form filled and/or shortened with Clearbit data.
  • Creating a new contact through Prospector: 1 credit per unique record created.

Clearbit states that enrichment credits cost $0.30 per record. So, we can theorise that other credits will cost around the same amount.

From user reviews on G2, it’s suspected that Clearbit offers a set amount of free credits a month, as many users request more.

Is Clearbit pricing suitable for individual prospecting?

Despite users having a choice between a monthly or annual plan, Clearbit pricing may not be suitable for individual prospecting. Why so? Clearbit bases the cost of its packages on business and database size, monthly web traffic, contact creation and features included.

Consider exploring Clearbit alternatives for better data quality, more credits, features, and integrations.

Looking for a more flexible pricing model?

Cognism offers two license types: Platinum & Diamond.

How is the Clearbit cost calculated?

How much is Clearbit? Determining Clearbit’s pricing can be complex due to factors like your company headcount, database size,  monthly web traffic, and contact creation. Plus the number of licenses, credit usage, and additional features needed.

If you’re looking for a provider with simpler and more transparent pricing with unlimited credits subject to a generous fair usage policy, check out the Cognism vs Clearbit comparison page.

Is Clearbit worth the price?

Clearbit is good for marketing teams looking for email addresses and database enrichment. It might not be worth it if your teams require unlimited credits, integrations, and wider coverage for DNC list screening due to the way Clearbit structures its pricing.

If you’re looking for a tool that makes it easier to prospect globally without limited credits, then Cognism is for you.

Here’s what makes Cognism different from Clearbit:

  • Phone-verified mobile numbers for the contacts you really want to reach. Plus, a 16-step email verification process.
  • Mobile number accuracy with Diamond Data® that increases connect rates by 3x.
  • 2x the number of B2B contacts.
  • GDPR & CCPA-compliant with comprehensive DNC screening.
  • The most complete EMEA data.
  • Straightforward pricing structure with unrestricted access to mobiles. (Subject to a generous fair usage policy)

In a recent satisfaction survey, software buyers who recently evaluated data enrichment tools scored Cognism higher than Clearbit. Some buyers say that Clearbit needs to improve its data quality. Users complain that Clearbit’s data is two to three years old (not great for a data enrichment tool) and that they need to use other tools to verify information. Some say Clearbit’s EMEA enrichment needs work.

These are all factors Cognism excels at. In fact, in the most recent Forrester Wave report, Cognism scored 5/5 for geographic coverage of contact data and 5/5 in data security and privacy.

But don’t take our word for it!

A leading company in the software development field had this to say about using Cognism:

“I don’t think any competitors are on the same level when it comes to the regularity of fresh, new B2B data.”

“Having everything enriched by Cognism has been incredibly useful. We have the right information; we can see which accounts are target accounts, who the decision-makers are, and who is likely to buy in the current economic climate.”

“In the past year, I’ve generated about €45k in opportunities through Cognism.”

“This is all down to Cognism giving us the right leads, contact numbers and emails, plus helping us to understand our buying  persona better.”
