GDPR Overview

The GDPR will apply in the UK from 25 May 2018. GDPR regulates the governance of personal data both consumer and business. The government has confirmed that the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not affect the commencement of the GDPR. A breach of GDPR can result in a fine of 20 million euros (£17.5m) or 4 per cent of turnover, whichever is greater. Being able to show the regulator that an organisation planned properly could result in any fine being considerably reduced.
